Last minute cruise, how would one go about taking a cruise spur of the moment?
How close to departure can one book a cruise? Not one going across the ocean or anything just a trip from ny to canada or throughout new england. What kind of discount will i get?
You may not get much of a discount at all, if you wait until "last minute" - which would be at least two weeks before the cruise departs. Especially for NE/Canada cruises, which are already pretty limited anyway, by season and by number of ships. Cruise lines must submit passenger manifests several days before the cruise departs, for security reasons.
Best way to get a discount is to book far in advance or just after the 60-day final-payment date, which is when people who change their minds will cancel, thus opening up cabins, which will often be snapped up very quickly.
