Or book it earlier like a week or more before the travel? Please advise. Plus which sites/travel agents offer the best packages? Thanks!

Book as soon as possible as prices rise the closer to the vacation date. Book separate air and hotel. Airlines do not discount fares to anyone anymore. The price will be the same no mater what site you look at. Be careful in that site will charge a fee at the very end when you go to pay.

The problem with package deals is they have the worst times for the flights and mix with the worst rooms available at the hotels.

So the earlier to book the better.

I would not wait to book the flight as the problems in Iran may cause fuel costs to escalate. I fly quite often and the planes are pretty much fully booked nowadays. The airlines have greatly reduced the amount of flights and planes to avoid costs. So, I highly recommend booking your flight ASAP. If your dates are flexible, let the airfare dictate.

As far as the hotels go, that is less of a concern. Just shop all the hotels sites and review their rate calendars to make sure there isn't some event in town that is causing a rate spike. I always book my flight months in advance and my hotel closer to the actual departure unless I find a great promo.

    Good Luck!

try lasvegas.com. they have great package deals from most major airports. if you live near one of the big hubs like sfo, dfw, jfk, etc. then you get usually find a good deal. book at least a week or 2 in advance though. you may get just as good a deal or better by booking last minute but you have to be super flexible with times and dates.
my parents come here a few times a year and usually only book a week in advance and get great deals. also check into booking the air and hotel separately. you can often get just as good a deal or better by booking a cheap flight with the airline and hotel at lasvegas, com or elsewhere.

I would suggested earlier the better. I mean sometimes you can find those "last minute" deals, but only if you are lucky enough to be looking at the right time! Then those last minute deals are often limited to certain hotels, etc.
It's always important to compare prices with several website before booking any travel. But don't limit yourself to the "big name" sites (Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, etc) Many of these sites our now own by the same company, so the prices do not very much from site to site – therefore, making you think their price is the best you are going to find!
There are many other travel sites out there that can give you better prices, so always shop around. You also get the best deal when you book flight & hotel together!
I would suggest trying this Travel website, I have recommended it to many people on yahoo and it gets voted "best answer" over everything else! Maybe they have something that fits your budget – I hope this helps!

If you wait you may not get the time/date and hotel you want. The old expression"penny wise and pound (money) foolish"

The best is to book air and hotel separately in advance to get the best price. For air I would check kayak.com and for hotel rooms I recommend http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com – it has the latest hotel promotional codes.

Earlier is definitely better. In May I got a sweet deal for a week in August, and the price has only gone up since then.

I would book early.I booked a room for June in March and it was the cheapest deal ever. It is a hotel off the strip though. i would book with hotwire. But always search around online for the best dea for flight and hotel room. You can call the hotel and see if you would get a better deal through the hotel. There are lots of good deals now from searches I did with my friend who visited last week.

    Good luck.
