For all Cancun visitors..How do you avoid the people in the airport selling the ridiculous time share?
This will be our 2nd trip to cancun, and I remeber last time we were immediatley greeted by the people there selling timeshare. Yeah we get some kind of excursion for a great deal but we have to give them 90 minutes of our time which turns into 8 hours because they try to get you to do time share. But anyways how do we avoid them, better yet how do you avoid them? Btw I saw this on 20/20 too last friday and some of them are scams......:(
Just say "No gracias" and keep walking. Try to be nice/polite these people are just trying to make a living. If you are polite and they continue to bug you then feel free to lash out violently. ; ) Just kidding on that last point, but you don't really have any obligation to acknowledge them or be nice to them at that point.
One thing you should consider though, many of these people are handing out "Cancun tips" Magazines, they are worth taking for the coupons, maps and general info on the area. I usually just take the magazine but politely tell them I'm not interested in anything else.
