Jetblue has had some really great fares recently. Also think about leaving a day early or very early Friday morning. You might have just left it for too late... You might check bestfares.com but be aware their prices don't include taxes so they look better than they are and for some fares you have to purchase a year long membership to the travel club. They are legit though. I was a member for years. Just decided that I wasn't saving enough to justify the fees. Also check nearby airports if you are close enough.
