The Answer to Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes

What causes dark circles under the eyes?

- Changes in your body's fluid balance
- Aging
- Allergic reaction
- High blood pressure
- Irritation
- Eyelid dermatitis
- Hangovers
- Medications
- Can be hereditary.

Avoid getting puffy eyes:

1. Stay hydrated

Always make sure you take in water or juice as much as possible. Not only is it good for puffy eyes, it is good for the whole body as well.

2. Watch your sleeping position

With your neck well supported, sleep with your head elevated slightly with a pillow to avoid fluid to settle around your eyes.

3. Get enough rest and sleep

Insufficient sleep is one of the principal causes of both puffy eyes and dark eye circles. Give yourself at least eight hours sleep and enough rest so as to avoid getting puffy eyes.

4. Listen to your eyes

When working in front of the computer, watching television or reading a book, be certain that you are listening to what your eyes are trying to tell you. If you feel that your eyes are getting tired, don't push it. Give it a rest. Lie down awhile, close your eyes for a minute or two and pat it with warm cloth to soothe it.

5. Watch what you eat

Too much caffeine and salt encourages water retention. Taking multivitamin with large doses of vitamin C and Iron supplements, eating more vegetables and fruits can help your problem of water retention as well give your body other benefits such as a steady blood pressure and lesser body fat.

6. Cold compress

Use cooled teabags, cucumber, or potato slices over your eyes for at least fifteen minutes and relax.

7. Concealer helps

Concealers can very well hide the puffiness or dark circles around your eyes. Make sure though, that you choose a color that is just slightly lighter than your skin tone. Choosing a very light shade may even draw more attention to the puffiness. Blend the concealer well on your skin before you apply foundation, and then dust it with a little powder. Be very certain that the concealer, foundation and powder that you will use do not contain any chemicals that can cause allergic reactions.

8. Eye creams

The market if filled with eye creams that offer promises of a cure for dark under eye circles and puffy eyes. Test some; chances are the very first cream that you apply will greatly improve your eyes condition.

Eye exercises:

- While seated, relax, breathe and look at a certain figure or spot that is lined above your nose's bridge
- Look at the spot for five seconds, and then relax your eyes
- Look at the tip of your nose for a count of five seconds and relax. This will help lessen the tension in your eyes

- While seated, looking straight in front, inhale and look to the right as far as possible, not turning your head
- Repeat the exercise for the left side of the eye
- Doing this three times will relive tired eyes

- While seated, look down and roll your eyes to the right, to the top, in a circular motion
- Repeat three times

I have 5 days off work from Dec 23-27 and I'll be traveling with my gf, we prefer to go somewhere warm and would like to spend around $350 per person. I already checked 'last minute vacation' specials on airlines websites and travelocity, expedia, orbitz, etc.. but didn't see anything good.
Oh and we can travel ANYWHERE in the world, it doesn't matter if it's cold, anywhere besides Central US and New England.

My wife recently started working for a multinational company, a job which she informed me would require international travel. Well, the time came for her first trip. It was hastily put together at the last minute, giving her less than 24 hours notice. She forwarded the flight information to my e-mail so I would know. Well, at the last minute, she claimed her bosses changed the flight to have her leave some 12 hours before her original departure time (the evening before her original flight). I thought it a bit odd, but went along with it anyway even though she never e-mailed me the updated flight information. Long story short, the time of her original flight, I called the airline and told them I was concerned my wife may have missed her flight and they told me she was indeed on the flight. In fact, there wasn't even a flight at the time she claimed she would be traveling. She even called me, claiming to be in another country while she was right here in our hometown at the airport, no less than 20 miles from our home. I confronted her about this lie and she admitted to it. Her reasoning was that she wanted to attend a party with her co-workers and stay at a female co-worker's home, which would make things easier for them since they were traveling together in the morning. She claimed she did not tell me because I would be jealous and paranoid (which I am prone to). I understand that, but why lie about it? Why would my wife create such a huge, complicated, involved lie in order to stay in town an extra night? I know what I think, but I want to know what you think. Thanks!
Here are some reasons I suspect an affair.
- I have been struggling with ED, which is frustrating to both of us.
- In the past she was so upset about it that she told me, "I will cheat on you."
- She rarely wears her wedding ring, citing that it tends to slide off her finger in yoga class. She says she takes it off before class and forgets to put it back on.
- She stays awake in front of her laptop a few hours after me nearly every night, claiming to be working.
- She's very secretive and protective with her cell phone and laptop.
- She never leaves work on time.
- After an argument months ago, she changed her MySpace profile to "divorced" and never changed it back.
- The night of our last argument, she claimed she was going to be out with a girlfriend. I called the girlfriend at midnight and she said she had not heard from my wife that day. My wife later claimed she was at a bar, having a beer by herself. Oddly, no charges were ever made to her debit card.

That sounds extremely fishy. Even if the story she gave you is true that she would and could make up a lie that elaborate should be very troubling. If this is something she does often you might want to hire someone to look into it for you.
I would also recommend marriage counseling, she needs to learn the importance of honesty in the relationship and if it really is that your are overly jealous or paranoid you need to learn to trust. Unfortunately both your jealousy and paranoia and her lying are going to feed of one another and continue to purpetuate the problem if you don't fix it soon. Good luck!
